ISUF India- INUM

Indian Network of Urban Morphology

ISUF is an international platform of urban form researchers started in 1994, bringing together scholars and practitioners worldwide. Members come from several disciplinary backgrounds - architecture, planning, geography, history, and sociology. There are regional chapters established or in formation in many countries. The Regional Chapter of ISUF in India- Indian Network of Urban Morphology (INUM) was formed with the following objectives: 

  • To promote research in urban form under 3 domains-

  1. Change in urban form in Indian cities

  2. Typo-morphological approach to the analysis of urban form

  3. Assessment of urban form using modern technology (Drones & GIS)

  • To organize seminars, conferences, workshops, certificate courses and publish work on the theme

  • To establish a relationship with ISUF for providing an international platform for communication with researchers interested in the same domain

  • To promote the dissemination of research findings to Indian students

21st to 25th August 2023

A programme on USE OF DRONES IN THE STUDY OF URBAN FORM was held as the launching activity of the Regional Chapter of ISUF in India – INUM (Indian Network of Urban Morphology). It was held in mixed mode (physical and virtual) in the School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi from 21st to 25th  August 2023.
